Heute sehen wir das die Krise die Menschen aus den Bereichen Kunst, Kultur und Musik am meisten trifft. Genau die Bereiche, die für das Seelenleben der Menschen am wichtigsten sind. Die Kunst, die Kultur und die Musik sind durch nichts zu ersetzen, auch wenn sie gerne als nicht Systemrelevant abgetan werden. Deshalb haben wir oft gedacht, wie schön wäre es mal wieder in den 80ern wach zu werden. Ganz ohne Internet, man mußte als Musiker noch durch die Clubs ziehen um seine Songs zu präsentieren. DJ`s mussten noch nach Amsterdam oder London reisen um sich die neusten Scheiben zu besorgen. Es gab noch noch Plattencover, die Künstler gestalten konnten und in jedem kleinen Kaff gab es Discotheken in denen man die neuste Musik hören konnte. Man ist sich noch sorglos begegnet und der Weg war das besondere um ans Ziel zu kommen. Nichts war mit einem Mausklick verfügbar, Bands hatten noch über viele Jahre Beständigkeit, weil sie auch über viele Jahre gewachsen sind. Heute sind wir oft nur noch Eintagsfliegen, schnell da und noch schneller wieder weg. Sicher war auch nicht alles besser in den 80ern, aber sie waren „Menschlicher“. …stay at home, be alone…wake up in the 80s.

We got the inspiration for this song, while were in lockdown at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been shocked how fast you could loose everything overnight. Mostly affected are people who are employed in the art section, culture and music. Even if being an artist is not considered as systemically relevant, it is the art field that has a huge importance for us humans. For our inner life culture, music and art is not replaceable.Thats how we got the thought of how great it could be waking up in the 80s all of a sudden again. Of course not everything was better, but as a musician at that time without internet, you had to go on a whole different journey, like meeting different people and visiting different clubs until you were finally able to show off your music to an audience. DJs had to travel to amsterdam or london to get their special records, newcoming artists had the chance to design their covers. People were meeting a little more carefree and the journey was the goal. Nothing was as easily reachable with a simple mouse click as it is today. Things had a durability because they were developed in years. Today a lot of us are ‚nine-day wonders‘, we appear all of a sudden but we’re gone with the same rapidity.
